About Us
Ryan White HIV Services Program
The Ryan White HIV Services Program (RWSP), part of the Marion County Public Health Department, is funded through the US Health Resources and Services Administration. Ryan White funds are intended to provide “stop gap” services for HIV+ eligible individuals until they can be enrolled in long term comprehensive insurance programs, such as Medicaid or Medicare. Ryan White funds are required to serve as the “payer of last resort”, meaning that if an eligible individual has any form of insurance or any type of third party payer, those benefits are utilized first. Once these benefits are exhausted, Ryan White funds may then be utilized.
Priorities of the RWSP are to identify HIV+ individuals who are unaware of their HIV status and provide an avenue for early entry into health services. We also work to ensure that individuals brought into care remain in care.
